Musician and actor Johnny Flynn has been confirmed to play David Bowie in a new upcoming biopic called Stardust. Jena Malone and Marc Maron will also star in the movie that tells the story of the iconic musician, starting with his first visit to America in 1971, a trip that inspired the creation of his glam alter ego Ziggy Stardust. Emmy winner Gabriel Range will direct the biopic, while Christopher Bell has penned the script. Range, Paul Van Carter and Nick Taussig are producing the film under Salon Pictures. In a statement, Salon Pictures’ Carter said, “Johnny Flynn is one of the U.K.’s most talented emerging actors and a musician in his own right.” Flynn has previously appeared in TV shows Lovesick, Brotherhood, and Vanity Fair, as well as films including Clouds Of Sils Maria and Beast. In related news, rare video footage of Bowie’s first televised appearance as Ziggy Stardust has been uncovered. The footage of Bowie’s appearance in a forgotten premiere of ITV’s Lift Off With Ayshea has been uncovered by archivists from a fan’s home video recording. The footage could feature in BBC2’s forthcoming documentary, David Bowie: Finding Fame. (Photo: Steve Gullick) Copyright(c) 2019 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
