Rami Malek grabbed the best actor award at this year’s BAFTA awards for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury in the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody. Malek received the award from Margot Robbie at the 72nd British Academy Film Awards at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday evening, February 10. The American actor also paid tribute to the “uncompromising” late Queen frontman as he accepted award. “Thank you very much to Queen,” Malek said. “To Brian May. To Roger Taylor. To the entire Queen family. I wouldn’t be here without you. And to the greatest outside of them all for being so unwavering and unflinching and uncompromising in every which way. Thank you, Freddie Mercury.” “This is truly extraordinary,” he added. “Thank you BAFTA for this gorgeous gift. I cannot believe I am included in this group of actors. I’ve entered this world as an outsider.
