Todd Rundgren’s Utopia have announced the release of Live At The Chicago Theatre, a 24-track collection of their live performances at the Chicago Theatre on May 22, 2018. Formed in 1973, the band decided to reunite for a North American tour in 2018 after a 32-year-old hiatus. “I think that on a certain level, we were never really officially disbanded,” bassist Kasim Sulton said in an interview with The Morning Call last year. “It was simply a question that there was a window of opportunity that nobody else was busy doing other projects, and it made sense to try, to float the idea that we were gonna do this,” he said of the reunion. “I think that management approached some promoters and we got a lot of interest,” Sulton added. “There was some due diligence done and it turned out that it was gonna be something that people wanted to see happen.” Scheduled for release on April 12, the 4-disc compilation will be available in Blu-Ray, DVD & CD formats and is available for pre-order now.
