“Everyone deserves a voice and anyone who wants to talk about what happened with Bryan [Singer] deserves to have their voice heard,” says Rami Malek, who played the role of late Queen frontman Freddie Mercury in the biopic Bohemian Rhapsody. Malek made the comments this during a discussion at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival about sex abuse allegations against Bryan Singer, who directed the film. In response to a question by moderator Scott Feinberg about the claims, Malek said, “My heart goes out to anyone who has to live through anything like what I’ve heard and what is out there.” “It’s awful, it’s remarkable that this happens, I can appreciate so much what they’ve been through and how difficult this must be for them. In the light of the #MeToo era that this somehow seems to exist after that, it’s a horrible thing,” he told the audience at Santa Barbara’s Arlington Theatre, who gathered there to honor the Oscar-nominated actor. Malek went on to say his “situation” with Singer was “not pleasant, not at all” before adding, “That’s about what I can say about it at this point.” Copyright(c) 2019 RTTNews.com.
