Heavy metal band Queensryche claims they have been “bamboozled” by PledgeMusic and revealed pre-orders of their upcoming album The Verdict made through the crowdfunding platform will not be fulfilled. Queensryche accused various people at PledgeMusic of lying to the band for “months and months” and said they are now out $70,000 due to money troubles at the platform. “We are not alone in this matter, as it has been publicly made aware that many other artists have been affected as well,” Queensryche said in a post on Facebook. The band added, “We are truly sorry for this and any inconvenience this causes, but please do understand this is all out of our control, and as we said before, the Pledge folks lied and lied while they mismanaged the monies of the company.” Queensryche said The Verdict will still be released on March 1 via all other outlets, noting only pre-orders through PledgeMusic will be affected.
