Queen drummer Roger Taylor has released a new solo single, “Gangsters Are Running This World,” that addresses the current state of world affairs. “As I lay on my bed, my mind’s trying to rest / There’s a whole heap of worry pushing down on my chest / Gangsters are running this world / You can shout but never be heard / Gangsters are running this world,” Taylor sings in the song. The politically-charged single is Taylor’s first new music in more than five years. The single comes as Queen prepares to kick off their Rhapsody Tour across North America this summer, with Adam Lambert as their lead vocalist. The 23-date trek will begin on July 10 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Taylor has previously used music to address political situations. In 2011, Taylor re-released his protest song about media tycoon Rupert Murdoch. The track, titled “Dear Mr Murdoch,” was first written in 1994 and was included on Roger’s Happiness album.
