Robby Krieger announced that he has written and recorded a new song for the upcoming Prince documentary, Mr. Nelson: On The North Side. The Doors guitarist revealed the on Facebook on the eve of the third death anniversary of Prince’s death. The song, called “Music Speaks Louder Than Words,” was recorded at Krieger’s “Horse Latitudes” studio with Grammy-winning artist Macy Gray on vocals. “Prince was an amazing artist, but he was also such an underrated guitarist,” said Krieger. Directed by Kirk Fera, Mr. Nelson: On The North Side looks deeply at Prince’s early years living on the North Side of Minneapolis in the 1960’s and 1970’s. Other artists who appear in the film include Chaka Khan, Chuck D, Billy Gibbons, Haley Reinhart, Alex Al, Eddie Kramer, Dennis Quaid, Brody Brown, Orianthi and Randy Bachman.
