The Who lead singer Roger Daltrey has announced the album, The Who’s Tommy Orchestral, will be released on June 14. The album features Roger Daltrey performing the 1969 rock opera with members of The Who and an orchestra conducted by Keith Levenson. Recorded in Budapest and Bethel in upstate New York, the scene of the first Woodstock festival, the album was produced by Daltrey and Levenson. It features the core band of Simon Townshend – vocals & guitar, Frank Simes – guitar, Scott Devours – drums, Jon Button – bass, and Loren Gold – keyboards, all of whom have played with The Who live. Levenson conducted The Budapest Scoring Orchestra from new orchestrations by David Campbell. “Pinball Wizard” from the album was released for preview on the band’s website.
