Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine says he has throat cancer.

He posted news of his diagnosis on his Instagram page and on Facebook.

On the Instagram post he writes that he is working closely with his doctors on mapping out a treatment plan

The 57-year-old says that most of its 2019 shows will be cancelled.

The 2019 Megacruise is still set, he writes, with the band being “a part of it in some form.”

Mustaine says the band is working on its follow up its hit “Dystopia.”

The Academy nominated the band for a Grammy Award in 1996 for “Passion.” The band won its first Grammy in 2017 for “Dystopia.”
