A man has been growing out his hair for 15 years. His locks remained untouched the whole time.

The man, Reynaldo Arroyo, 22, recently made two selfless decisions.

He has chosen to join the Army.

The second choice was the result of his first choice. Aroyo decided to donate what he had.

Army regulations (PDF) requires shorter hair than worn by Arroyo. Much shorter.

Arroyo told CNN he is donating his hair to Locks of Love. The organization uses donated hair to make wigs for children who suffer hair loss due to cancer treatments or diseases that cause hair loss. that he hopes his hair will go to someone in need.

Arroyo will be donating the hair to Locks of Love, a nonprofit that takes hair donations and makes wigs for children. Locks of Love gives the wigs to children who experience hair loss from cancer treatments or diseases that cause hair loss.

“Hopefully some little girl’s gonna get it,” Arroyo said.
