Kidney stones, man.  kidney stones…

By Jon Smith:

A couple of weeks ago, KISS was scheduled to perform here in SLC for the last time ever, when we heard that the show was canceled, or rather, postponed less than 24 hours before the gates were to open at USANA.

We didn’t know much, other than ours was one of three dates that were axed, and Gene was headed back to California for some sort of medical procedure that according to his Twitter account was “Nothing serious”

Well, NOW we know the culprit.  Kidney stones! For those of us who have experienced this, yeah.  That’s worth postponing a show.  That’s a whole lotta hurt!

According to TMZ, Gene has been trying to pass the stones naturally over the last few weeks but underwent a procedure at Cedars-Sinai Hospital yesterday to complete the process.

This is not the first time Gene has had to call Dr. Love about kidney stones.  Back in 2009, he had one that he actually ended up selling on eBay for $15000

No word as to when KISS will make good on their Salt Lake City show, or what we should do with our tickets until then, but as soon as we know something, you’ll know something.
