The story begins with a simple pleasure… Virginia resident Shauna Hall stopped at Chick-fil-A, expecting nothing but a tasty meal.

Shauna got more than she bargained for.

As she was getting her son out of the van, out plopped her phone, and down the storm drain, it went. There was no ninja-like save–her phone fell perfectly into the storm drain.

While most of us tackle how to revive our phone after we drop it in the toilet, Shauna had bigger chicken to fry. She needed to somehow get her phone back from the underworld… Imagine the panic!

Shauna attempted to save her own day to no avail. She ran through her options, walked into Chick-fil-A, and asked the manager on duty if he had any ideas…and he sure did.

The manager, Seth, went above and beyond.

First things first, Seth comped Shauna’s meals. She was already having a rough day, and forking over $17 for food didn’t seem like the best way to make it better.

Next, Seth called to see if the county could help Shauna retrieve her precious cell phone. The county hung up on him, offering no help.

Finally, Seth decided to take matters into this own hands.

He marched outside to the storm drain. Seth and Shauna noticed the manhole cover next to the drain was unbolted and easily accessible. Together, they moved the cover, but not without Seth slicing his hand open.

With a wounded hand, Seth used a grab stick to try and save the phone… until he dropped it. Seems to be the trend.

Seth was on a mission to save Shauna’s phone.

“He tells me it’s a manhole for a reason and he is going down,” Shauna shared on a Facebook post.

Seth, in his uniform, climbs down the manhole to find Shauna’s phone 100% unharmed and in working condition.

“Service with a smile. Just another day at Chick-fil-A,” Shauna wrote.

It was most likely Seth’s pleasure to swoop in and save the day!
