First, if you are looking to get the most out of your holiday time in downtown Salt Lake City, the Jingle Bus is absolutely the way to go. As an attraction in itself, the Jingle Bus employees volunteer tour guides who share histories of downtown landmarks. But the Jingle Bus will also help you get the most out of your time downtown going between The Gateway, Temple Square, City Creek Center Gallivan Plaza, and the Capitol Theatre. It runs for 6 weeks from the day after Thanksgiving to New Year’s EVE from 5 pm-10 pm, 7 days a week. It’s a hop on hop off experience and it’s completely FREE!

Christkindlmarket is a completely different holiday shopping experience. The market was inspired by the world-famous German Christmas markets. Christkindlmarket is a great place for you to buy gifts. And the market also packed with fun activities for you and your family. From fun parades to live entertainment and even a live nativity. The market runs from December 4th through December 7th, 2019 from 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM and is also free to attend.

While this is the only activity on this list you will need to pay for, it’s totally worth it! You can stroll mile-long walk which features 25 different holiday themes that are even scented. And then you’ll see a 40′ hill which is topped by a lighted tower tree and has a digital ‘pixel’ blanket of lights that have sweeping designs programmed into it. Then combine those with bronze sculptures depicting scenes of Jesus Christ, and a full nativity scene. Luminaria is something like you’ve never seen.
