WARNING: Stranger Things 3 spoilers below…

As fans know, the last season ended with a shock: Chief Jim Hopper gets caught in an extra-dimensional explosion, dying to save everyone else. Or, at least we thought he was dead.

Season three also premiered this post-credits scene, with Russian guards hinting at someone… an American, in fact:

Fans immediately began speculating who this “American” is, with many theorizing our favorite police chief and adoptive father of Eleven was still alive.

If nothing else, the new trailer confirms one thing: our friends aren’t in Hawkins, Indiana, anymore.

The scene opens to a dark and cold — literally dark and cold — Russia landscape, with workers constructing a railroad line. The camera moves past the rest to focus on one in particular: our very own Jim Hopper.

There aren’t many details coming out of the trailer — beside the fact that Hopper is now being used to work in Russia, in a uniform with a shaved head.

But putting that aside, fans don’t know what to expect.

The phrase ‘Hopper’ and the hashtag #StrangerThings4 quickly started trending on Twitter soon after the release of the trailer. The re-emergence of Hopper’s character is enough to keep fans on the edge of their seat.

But for how long? We aren’t sure.

The show’s creators haven’t announced a release date for the highly anticipated Stranger Things 4. But, with the release of this trailer (presumably, the first of more to come), fans predict they don’t have to wait much longer.
