2019-12-08 Religion Today – Book of Revelation Series – Part 6 – Chapters 10-End

In Revelation Chapters 15-22 (end) we read of the demise of the beast, false profit and ultimately the Devil and his angels who are cast into a lake of fire.  We read of the Second Coming in which Jesus return in great glory, dressed in red, to signify his sacrifice (death and resurrection).  The battle of Armageddon (a location about 60 miles north of Jerusalem) is described.  The city New Jerusalem comes down from Heaven.  It is (if you do the math) a city with the dimensions of an enormous cube, 1,500 miles long, 1,500 miles wide, and 1,500 miles high, with a wall 258 feet high.  These staggering dimensions are meant to convey there is enough room for everyone who desires to enter.  The final verses of Revelation say to not add to or alter the “words of this book” which does not refer to the Bible or New Testament (which had not yet been assembled) but only to the Book of Revelation.
