Neil Young has confirmed that his upcoming new album The Monsanto Years, recorded with Promise Of the Real, will be released on July 29. Promise of the Real features Lukas Nelson and Micah Nelson, sons of country legend Willie Nelson. The group is rounded out by Anthony Logerfo, Corey McCormick and Tato Melgar. In addition to standard versions of the album, described as “ecologically/environmentally focused,” The Monsanto Years will also be released in a special CD/DVD package. A vinyl edition will follow in August. Those who pre-order will receive instant downloads of two songs, “Big Box” and “A Rock Star Bucks a Coffee Shop.” Pre-orders are now available.
