The Nobel Prize Committee announced that Bob Dylan has composed a speech that will be read at the Nobel banquet on December 10. It is unknown at this time who will read the speech, since Dylan previously announced that he would be unable to attend the ceremony due to other commitments. The committee also announced that Patti Smith will perform a rendition of Dylan’s “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall” at the ceremony. Smith had been scheduled to perform since before the prize winners were announced and was originally going to perform one of her own songs. “I had planned to perform one of my own songs with the orchestra,” Smith revealed in an interview with Rolling Stone. “But after Bob Dylan was announced as the winner and he accepted it, it seemed appropriate to set my own song aside and choose one of his. I chose ‘A Hard Rain’ because it is one of his most beautiful songs.” Copyright(c) 2016 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
