In a recent interview with The Rock Brigade podcast, Kansas frontman, Ronnie Platt explained why he was hesitant to join the group. Platt tells the story of a VH1 Behind the Music episode featuring Styx. On the episode Styx’s second frontman, Lawrence Gowan spoke of the difficulties of filling a legend’s shoes. Apparently for the first year of performing, Styx fans would boo him and chant “F**k you! Where’s Dennis?”-referring to original frontman, Dennis DeYoung. However, Platt was not faced with a similar situation. Though his nerves were on edge about performing, he did not face the same hostility with Kansas, as Gowan did with Styx. Platt explains, “The Kansas fans have been so overwhelmingly accepting of me. I thank my lucky stars for that.” Copyright(c) 2017 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
