David Bowie’s single “Heroes” will be released as a new 7″ picture disc in honor of its 40th anniversary. Bowie wrote the song’s lyrics; the music is by Bowie and Brian Eno. The new limited edition release will see an AA-side picture-disc of the song, with the single version of “Heroes” backed by a live performance of the track, taken from Marc Bolan’s ITV show Marc, the song’s first ever public performance. The track was recorded on the September 7, 1977 episode but wasn’t broadcast until later that month by which time Bolan had died in a tragic accident.
