Events and performers have been announced for the fifth anniversary of Ronnie James Dio’s passing, which will be commemorated May 15-17 with a star-studded celebration of his life and music. The celebration will begin May 15 with a celebrity bowling tournament, to be held from 7-11 p.m. at the Pinz Bowling Center in Studio City, California, hosted by That Metal Show’s Eddie Trunk and featuring appearances by present and former members of Foreigner, Guns N’ Roses, Rage Against the Machine and Dio. There will also be a silent auction. Events continue May 16 with a free memorial service to be held at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles as friends and family gather for a program featuring remarks and performances from Lita Ford, Vinny Appice, Great White and more. Finally, on May 17, there’s the Ride for Ronnie motorcycle ride and barbecue, set to begin at 11 a.m. in Glendale and continue at noon in Encino, where food and music will go until 5 p.m. Performers include Eddie Money, and between sets, attendees can participate in a raffle and a live auction as well as taking in a Condor Squadron fly-conducted by seven vintage World War II airplanes.
