Todd Rundgren has seemingly resparked his long-running feud with the band XTC. Rundgren was enlisted by the band’s label to produce their breakout release Skylarking, during which time he says things went downhill quickly. “Essentially, it was kind of preordained by me – what the record was going to be – which was something that they never had endured before,” Rundgren told Marc Maron during an interview on the latter’s podcast. “I think 60 percent of the band trusted me, but Andy Partridge never trusted me.” Much of the conflict took place over the track “Dear God,” which Partridge allegedly tried to pull because of religious overtones. “He was afraid that there would be repercussions personally for him for taking on such a thorny subject,” Rundgren recalled. “What a pussy. . . . I called them and said, ‘This is a mistake.'” Copyright(c) 2016 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
