David Bowie is the new face of New York City’s MetroCards. Brooklyn Vegan reports that the new Bowie MetroCards are now available at Broadway-Lafayette station, with the entire Broadway-Lafayette station being transformed into a tribute to the late musician. Ads for David Bowie Is, which is currently taking place at the Brooklyn Museum, and Bowie’s catalog on Spotify, the streaming service is also a sponsor of the exhibit, are plastered all over the station along with posters of Bowie’s face, installations making use of the station’s architecture, and a “David Bowery” street sign. There is also a giant mural outside the station. At a cost of $6.50, the new MetroCards reportedly have a two ride minimum. Last year, the Metropolitan Transit Authority introduced Twin Peaks subway fare cards in homage to the David Lynch cult show, along with another Supreme-branded card. Copyright(c) 2018 RTTNews.com.
