Chris Cornell will be immortalized in the form of an ES-335 guitar!

By Jon Smith:

Gibson Guitars announced that a  limited edition axe will be released in honor of Cornell, who of course was the guy behind Soundgarden, Temple Of The Dog, and Audioslave.

Teaming up with  with the Chris & Vicky Cornell Foundation, Gibson is making a  donation to both the Cornell family foundation — the nonprofit launched by the Cornells in 2012 to protect the world’s vulnerable children — and the Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation, supporting those with the group of rare genetic connective tissue disorders.

The Cornell ES-335 features aged Lollartron humbucking pickups, clear “no number” Top Hat knobs, an Olive Drab Satin finish and a Mother-of-Pearl Chris Cornell ‘signature’ peghead inlay to make this offering “one of Gibson’s most distinct and rarified artist offerings to date,” That’s according to the actual announcement from Gibson.
