Tom Petty is remembered. The rock star died almost two years ago, but his fans and family continue to embrace his life.

His childhood home recently went on the market.

A “superfan” named Kevin Beauchamp intended to purchase the home.

Beauchamp’s plans, UCR reports, were to turn the home into a Petty museum.

Then another buyer stepped in, causing Beauchamp to back off.

The new buyer was Benyo Petty, a former wife of Tom Petty.

She visited the home for the Tom Petty Birthday Bash in 2018.

She told the Gainesville Sun that the home should stay in the family.

Benyo, aka Jane, lived near to Tom when the two were growing up. They met shortly after Tom graduated from high school.

Tom and Benyo married in 1974.  They had two children. They divorced in 1996.

The home, according to Realtor, is 1,407 square feet on a 0.27 acre lot.

Benyo Petty bought the home for the list price of $175,000.
