Metallica is cancelling tour dates in Australia and New Zealand. The band says the change is to allow Metallica frontman James Hetfield to enter rehab.

Metallica offered an apology through its Twitter account.

The band says Hetfield has re-entered a treatment program to take care of an addiction.

Fans will receive automatic refunds, the band says.
