It’s always exciting when solo work from members of America’s best rock bands makes their debut. This week we’ve been graced with a new song from the Eagles bassist.

Timothy B. Schmit dropped the single “The Good Fight” featuring the angelic voice of Sheryl Crow on Friday. If you need your fix of new music, Schmit helped you out with nearly an eight-minute song.

Schmit wouldn’t confirm if his newest single is related to an upcoming album. What we do know is the famous bassist had the inspiration to create a jam with a friend.

“I recorded a new song, “The Good Fight,” with my friend Sheryl Crow,” he said. “There couldn’t be any better time than right now to release this. The song was written and produced by the rock star himself.

We’re eagerly waiting to hear if “The Good Fight” will be followed by a new album. The last music Schmit released was his 2016 solo album Leap of Faith.

Schmit is projected to play with the Eagles during their Hotel California 2020 tour.
