David Lee Roth says his bandmate, Eddie Van Halen, is “not doing well”. The vocalist for Van Halen has decided to take over the shows in Las Vegas while his bandmate’s future is unknown.

Van Halen, the guitarist for Van Halen, has been reported to be battling throat cancer again. Originally diagnosed in 2000 and in remission in 2002, Van Halen has been flying back and forth between Germany to undergo treatment.

Although there is no confirmation or denial of this claim, it is still terrifying to think of losing such an icon for classic rock. Roth told the Las Vegas Review-Journal: “Ed’s not doing well, and singing and dancing is a perishable skill”.

Van Halen believes he contracted cancer because of the metal guitar pick he would cradle in his mouth on stage. Additionally, he claims the electromagnetic energy in recording studios could have also played a part.

Though there may never be a direct link to when the disease started or why we wish the best to Van Halen.
