May the force be with you… as “Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker” hits the Disney Plus streaming service May 4, which is the fandom’s holiday.

The release on May 4 is two months earlier than it was originally scheduled. But instead, it will be released on the timely day with the famous slogan “May the Fourth be with you.”
With this new release, Star Wars fans can stream all nine movies of the saga on Star Wars Day.
“The Rise of Skywalker” was released for digital rental and on-demand in March, so the timing isn’t necessarily unusual. Disney has been releasing several of its movies onto its streaming platforms weeks in advance because of people staying at home due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The film was the worst reviewed of the nine “Star Wars” movies, scoring a 52% on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie grossed more than $1 billion while in theaters after opening Dec. 20.
The streaming service also plans to release “Artemis Fowl” on the platform in May, replacing its original theatrical release.
