ST IVES, ENGLAND – JUNE 27: A seagull sits on a boat as people gather around the harbour at low tide in St Ives on June 27, 2018 in Cornwall, England. Parts of the UK continue to bask in heatwave weather with the hottest temperatures of the year recorded this afternoon, 89F (31.9C) reached in Portmadog in Wales. Meanwhile 88F (30.8C) was recorded in Northern Ireland, making today the hottest day in the country’s history. (Photo by Matt Cardy/Getty Images)

Across the pond in Lancashire, England, an elderly couple claims they have been held hostage by a pair of seagulls nesting on the roof of their home.  Like, actually held hostage..

You gotta problem, buddy?( NOT actual seagulls…)

Roy and Brenda Pickard’s story sounds like a real-life version of Alfred Hitchcock’s “Birds”! In fact, 71-year-old Roy said during one attack he was hit so hard on the back of the head that he had to be taken to the hospital for help. Local authorities have installed a gazebo outside the couple’s home, which should offer some protection, but that’s the best they can do for now. Roy told reporters, “The whole thing has been terrible. If I try to get out of the door, the two birds are right there and I’ve got no chance. It’s genuinely frightening. My wife isn’t well or very mobile at the moment so we’re relying on me to get out.” Luckily, the Prickard’s garage is connected to their house and he can get out through there when he needs to do some shopping, but he doesn’t dare get out of the car to close the garage door, so he always leaves it open until he comes back.

Cough up your lunch money, chump!

Lucky for us in Utah, Seagulls only go after crickets..  And my fries one time at Lagoon..  But that’s another story.
